Academic Integrity & Assessment Policy
Last Updated: July 2026
🎓 Core Principle
GrowGrader was built to accurately verify and measure real-world skills. The value of our Employability Score relies entirely on the authenticity of the submissions. We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy for academic dishonesty, plagiarism, and unauthorized use of generative AI.
1. Definition of Academic Dishonesty
Within the context of the GrowGrader platform, academic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to:
- Plagiarism: Submitting code, essays, or answers that were copied from the internet, StackOverflow, GitHub, or another student, without proper attribution where explicitly allowed by the task rules.
- Unauthorized AI Use: Using external generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot) to generate code or text for an assessment, unless the Recruiter/Faculty explicitly enabled the "Open AI allowed" flag for that specific task.
- Impersonation: Having another individual complete an assessment on your behalf.
- Collusion: Sharing assessment details, questions, or code with other candidates while the assessment window is still open.
2. Monitoring & Detection Technologies
By beginning any task or assessment on the Platform, Students explicitly consent to automated monitoring designed to detect cheating. GrowGrader employs multiple layers of verification:
- Browser Tracking: We monitor when the browser window loses focus, when tabs are switched, and when copy/paste commands are executed.
- AI Fingerprinting: Code submissions are analyzed against known AI-generated patterns and logical structures to detect heavily auto-generated submissions.
- Similarity Scoring: Submissions are cross-referenced in real-time against our global database of past submissions to detect collusion between candidates.
3. Consequences of Violation
If our automated systems flag a submission for high-probability cheating, or if a Faculty member manually reports a violation, the following actions will be taken immediately:
- The specific task submission will be graded as a Zero (0).
- The Student's global Employability Score will receive a permanent "Integrity Penalty" modifier.
- An automated report containing the forensic data (e.g., tab switch logs, copied code diffs) will be sent to the associated University Faculty or hiring Recruiter.
- In severe cases of systemic cheating, the Student's account will be permanently banned from the Platform, preventing them from applying to any future jobs hosted on GrowGrader.
4. Appeals Process
If a Student believes they were incorrectly flagged by our anti-cheat algorithms, they must submit a formal appeal to their specific University Faculty member or Recruiter. GrowGrader support staff cannot override an integrity flag. Only the institution or company that issued the task has the ultimate authority to dismiss a cheating flag and request a re-evaluation of the score.
