1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used by online service providers in order to make their websites or services work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information. GrowGrader uses cookies primarily for essential platform security and authentication.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
A. Strictly Necessary Cookies (Always On)
These cookies are strictly necessary to provide you with services available through our Platform and to use some of its features, such as access to secure areas.
- Supabase Auth Tokens: Used to keep you securely logged into your Student or Recruiter dashboard.
- CSRF Tokens: Used to protect forms and code submissions against Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks.
B. Performance & Analytics Cookies
These cookies collect information that is used either in aggregate form to help us understand how our Platform is being used or how effective our marketing campaigns are. We do not use third-party advertising cookies to track you across other websites.
3. Proctored Assessment Tracking
During active tasks and AI assessments, GrowGrader utilizes local storage and temporary session cookies to enforce academic integrity. This includes:
- Tracking browser focus and blur events to detect tab switching.
- Storing temporary code states to prevent data loss during network interruptions.
* Note: These temporary state markers are automatically cleared when the assessment concludes.
4. How to Control Cookies
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can exercise your cookie rights by setting your preferences in your web browser controls. However, please note that if you choose to reject cookies, you will be entirely unable to log into the GrowGrader platform, as Supabase authentication tokens are strictly required for security.
